Minister Mr Gaur directs
Bhopal, September 9, 2013 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Urban Administration and Development Minister Mr Babulal Gaur has said that main roads in Bhopal city and internal roads big colonies need to be classified and numbered to systemise them. In this regard, Mr Gaur directed officers of Municipal Corporation to take special initiative. Mr Gaur chaired meeting on the issue here on Saturday. Mayor Mrs. Krishna Gaur, Municipal Corporation Chairman Mr Kailash Mishra and Commissioner Urban Administration Mr Sanjay Shukla were also present on the occasion.Mr Gaur said that city roads should be selected and classified so that people and visitors from outside the city can reach their destinations easily. He said that main roads of the city were number in the master plan for year 1975.
It was informed at the meeting that 23 roads from east to west have been numbered as main roads and 34 from north to south as link roads.
Besides, internal roads of big colonies will also be numbered as lanes or streets. This work will be done jointly by Bhopal Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department and Bhopal Development Authority. In all, 34 roads in north-south direction in the city have been identified as link roads.
Directives have been given to take necessary action in this regard. Bhopal Collector Mr Nishant Varwade, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr Vishesh Garhpale and officers of concerning departments were present in the meeting.
