Punjabi culture backbone of Indian values: Governor

Governor Mr Ram Naresh Yadav has said that Punjabi culture is the backbone of Indian culture. He was inaugurating biennial mega event of National Punjabi Mahasabha here today. He said that Punjabi culture has integrity in its essence and goodwill for others, cooperation and love for humanity in its blood. Punjabi people have brightened name of state in country and world.

He said that Punjabi spirit has done the work of uniting country. We should not forget sacrifices of martyrs. Stream of patriotism always runs in our blood. Mr Yadav said that Punjabi Hindu organisation is symbol of national unity.

Punjabi people co-exist with other people with peace, harmony and brotherhood following preaching, message and ideals of Guru Nanak and Guru Granth Sahib.

The Governor said that women are always given equal status in Punjabi community, which is the main reason for its progress. Hindu Punjabi Samaj conducts its social and cultural organisations in all parts of the country and these organisations have formed a federation to connect Punjabi people with national level.

 Urban Administration Minister Mr Babulal Gaur, cine actor Mr Annu Kapoor, National President of Punjabi Sangathan Mr D.K. Kapoor, Mr G.R. Gandhi, Women’s Union President Mrs. Saroj Kapoor and members of Punjabi Hindu Samaj from the country and state were present on the occasion. Earlier, the Governor inaugurated the function by lighting a lamp. He also released a souvenir of Punjabi Hindu Samaj.
