CM attends golden jubilee function of army school at Rewa

 Bhopal, December 24, 2011 (Ataullah Faizan): The Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that construction of the Shaurya Smarak (Gallantry Memorial) at Bhopal will be completed in a year. It will be a fitting tribute of the state to the brave warriors of the country. Mr Chauhan was speaking as chief guest at the Golden Jubilee function of the Sainik School at Rewa today. The Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the Army School is pride of the state and the country. The school is grooming best citizens by imparting education, knowledge, skills and cultural values to its students.

It is a matter of pleasure and pride for all of us that apart from Army, the pass outs of this school are also distinguishing themselves by rendering valuable services in social, political, economic, industrial and educational sectors.

The Chief Minister said that countless brave people like Maharani Laxmibai, Bahadur Shah Zafar, Subhash Chandra Bose, Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh Ashfaque Ullah had contributed to India’s freedom and we should perpetuate their memories.

Earlier, on arrival at the venue, the Chief Minister was accorded a cordial welcome by Army School principal Colonel G.K. Pathak and other staff members.

The Golden Jubilee Function got underway with parade by mounted armymen and cadets presenting a Guard of Honour to the Chief Minister. The parade on the melodious tune of ‘Sare Jahan Se Achha….’ stole the hearts of the audience.

Military and police jawans presented motorcycle stunts while Parachute Regiment gave a breath-taking performance by jumping from helicopter flying in the sky. In the meantime, Army helicopters also showered flower petals from the sky. During the function, the Chief Minister also honoured ex-students of the school.

Minister of State for Energy Mr Rajendra Shukla, Lt. Col. A.K. Parinaik, A.K. Singh, Mr B.A. Gill, Col. Ashok Chaudhry, MLA Mr Nagendra Singh, Mr Abhay Mishra, Mrs Panna Bai, Mr Ramgarib Vanvasi, Mr Girish Gautam, students and ex-students of the school were present on the occasion.
