Forest land rights to be given to occupants till 2005

 Support price for minor forest produce to be fixed

Bhopal, December 24, 2011 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that forest land rights documents will be provided to the forest dwellers who were occupying land till year 2005. Support price for minor forest produce will be fixed with a view to improving economic condition of tribals. Mr Chouhan was addressing a gathering of tribals present at Indal Pooja at village Matli in Rajpur development block of Barwani district today. Earlier, the tribal community took out a procession of Lord Indal for three days. Chief Minister Mr Chouhan honoured two tribals – Kisan Bhai and Vakeel Bhai – for donating land for the construction of Lord Indal’s temple.

Some tribals had brought their children with hole in their hearts or are suffering from any other serious disease. The Chief Minister requisitioned doctors there and instructed them to extend full cooperation in the treatment of these children. The State Government will bear the cost on treatment of these children. He also gave instructions to the collector in this connection.

The Chief Minister congratulated residents of Barwani for maintaining ratio of boys and girls. He said that sons and daughters are equal, but girls are discriminated against in some areas. People of such areas should draw inspiration from Barwani.

He motivated tribals to educate their children saying that the State Government is extending all the facilities for it. Tribal Welfare Minister Mr Vijay Shah, MLA Mr Antar Singh Arya, Mr Devi Singh Patel and Mr Prem Singh Patel were also present on the occasion.
