Over nine lakh girls become ‘lakhpati’ so far

Bhopal, December 24, 2011 (Muslim Saleem): Several schemes like Ladli Laxmi Yojna are being implemented in Madhya Pradesh with a view to improve sex ratio. Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country where an atmosphere has been developed in favour of daughters, but several schemes have also been implemented for their welfare. The Ladli Laxmi Yojna launched by Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Raisen in 2007, has given the chance to girls to become ‘lakhpati’ (possessing over Rs. one lakh) since their birth. It is the result of constant monitoring and implementation of this scheme that so far nine lakh 11 thousand 728 girls have become Ladli Laxmis in the state.  Maximum one lakh 95 thousand 40 girls have been benefited under Ladli Laxmi Yojna in Jabalpur division of Madhya Pradesh followed by Indore division (one lakh 41 thousand 398 girls) and Ujjain division (one lakh 441 girls).

Among other divisions, 94 thousand 943 girls have been benefited in Bhopal, 70 thousand 866 in Gwalior, 63 thousand 269 in Rewa, 48 thousand 592 in Narmadapuram, 28 thousand 397 girls in Shahdol and 48 thousand 177 girls have been benefited in Chambal division.

Chhindwara has topped in the implementation of Ladli Laxmi Yojna among districts of the state by benefiting 42 thousand 702 girls followed by Jabalpur (42 thousand 353 girls), Indore district (33 thousand 788 girls), Sagar (36 thousand 252 girls), Bhopal (31 thousand 776 girls) Balaghat (29 thousand 218 girls), Dhar (28 thousand 835 girls), Betul (27 thousand 112 girls) and Mandla district (22 thousand 375 girls).
